CSERT Mission Statement

Our adopted mission statement is as follows:

Community Security Emergency Response Team – CSERT was formed by community members for community members. Residents and employees all want the same thing – a drastic reduction in crime.

As members of CSERT we want to make an impact in our communities and neighbourhoods by assisting all role players, including SAPS, JMPD, CPF, EMS, security companies and the general community, in reducing the crime levels across all cultures and diverse areas that make up the areas that we live and work in.

We want to make a difference.

We want to take our community back from the hands of the criminals and give residents peace of mind again.



What we do

We are situated in the Douglasdale SAPS precinct area. However, our operations are not bordered and extend to surrounding areas. More info

  • Patrols – We believe having an active presence makes would-be criminals think twice. The benefit of early detection and presence is a proven combatant against serious crimes.
  • Response – Ability to respond, and co-ordinate appropriate responses for all types of emergencies or situations.
  • Medical / Fire – Our members are encouraged to undergo necessary training.
  • Intelligence gathering – We have the necessary channels to collect information that can be provided to relevant authorities for further action and investigation.
  • Assist role players – SAPS, JMPD, EMS, Security companies.
  • Community Groups – Our telegram groups are managed by a dedicated team to allow residents access to crime info and emergency assistance. More Info
